Boo!!
10.30.2010
Did I scare you? Huh? Did I??? You can admit it... Never mind. I know you were scared. You can't fool me. :D

I love Halloween! Any holiday that focuses on candy is FULL OF WIN, says me. It could be that I have already sampled a bit of my candy cauldron's contents... *bounces from sugar high*

And, if Halloween is here, that means that the holiday season is about to kick in big time! Thanksgiving is right around the corner and then CHRISTMAS!! Suddenly I feel behind...

And now for something completely different...
9.01.2009
...enough of this bookish-ness (not that books aren't important) and stuff about my boring life (except vacay is coming - WOO HOO!). Let's talk about something even more important:

the NEW TV SEASON!!!

Wow, summer TV is nothing but bad. Pleh. The only thing worth watching was So You Think You Can Dance, says me.

But those long sad days of bad reality shows and reruns are coming to an end, peeps. And I, for one, say YAY!!

Some TV linkage for my peeps:

TV Guide's full fall schedule can be found HERE.

A calendar of season premieres can be found HERE.

Now let's talk about what I'm looking forward to ('cause, you know, it's all about me)...I can't wait for GLEE to come back full time! The sneek peek that aired after the American Idol was such fun! :-D If you have an iTunes account, you can download the GLEE cast's cover of Kanye West's Gold Digger for free right now. You know you want to. Also, this Friday, they are re-running the pilot and the cast will be tweeting along over on Twitter. I'll try to find a link about that later...I read it somewhere online yesterday. Fox is also re-running the Fringe finale this Thursday, supposedly, and the cast will be tweeting along during that, too. Follow @FringeOnFox to read along. However, my cable guide says some football preview is on this Thursday. Maybe that's just local? Yup, I checked...it's a local game. Ah well, I'll be on the road anyway.

What other new shows am I looking forward to, you ask? (I'm not linking everywhere because I'm lazy and the TV Guide pages have done part of it and Google is your friend) FlashForward looks very good, I think. Both because it sounds interesting and because Joseph Fiennes and John Cho are in it. Heh. Lovessss Joseph Fiennes! And John Cho is a cutie. And I'll be checking out Vampire Diaries, although my expectations are low. That's it for the new stuff I'll be setting the DVR for while I'm vacationing.

But what about returning faves, you might be wondering...well, So You Think You Can Dance is coming back for a Fall season, so YAY! And I'm looking forward to Dollhouse's return, as well as Castle (Nathan!!), Fringe, Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and a few more shows.

What about you, my peeps? What new shows are you excited about? Any returning faves you can't wait to see? Don't be like this guy...

ETA: This is what happens when you post while under the influence of cold medicine. Don't do drugs, peeps! Heh.

Suz news! Get yer blurb here!!
4.27.2009
Yup, straight from Suz's latest newsletter, we have the blurb for her summer release, Hot Pursuit! Wo0t! You know what that means, don't you, peeps?? That's right - here come the Snoopies!

Here we go:

Alyssa Locke is no stranger to dealing with danger. As team leader of the nation's number one personal security company, Troubleshooters, Inc., she's seen more than her share of action, survived plenty of close calls, and holds her own with the best of them--and against the worst of them. Guarding lives is her
game, and no one plays it better. But her toughest challenge will be protecting herself from a serial killer she's been after for years -- known only as "The Dentist" -- who is determined to make her his ultimate trophy.

The assignment was supposed to be an easy one: teach self-defense techniques to a newly-elected New York State Assemblywoman
and her chief of staff, after a political controversy generates a blizzard of hate mail -- including some death threats -- from hotheads and cranks. But as soon as she mobilizes in New York City with her squad of moonlighting Navy SEALs, Alyssa begins butting heads with the hard-case cop who thinks they're chasing shadows.

Until they discover a dead body. And then another. Now Alyssa
really has her hands full -- bodyguarding two independent, busy women, managing a murder investigation, and trying to find time for her husband, Troubleshooters operative Sam Starrett, and their infant son. Meanwhile, it wouldn't be a Troubleshooters operation without romantic sparks and heated rivalries--and any time the SEALs of Team Sixteen are involved, there are plenty of both.

But then, in the middle of investigating a suspect, Alyssa is ambushed, and suddenly finds herself imprisoned by The
Dentist. Now cut off from everyone she loves and relies on, Alyssa must call upon all of her strength and skill to survive this final confrontation with the sadistic monster, and trust that her
Troubleshooter teammates, led by her beloved Sam, will reach her before it's too late.

HOT PURSUIT will be in bookstores on July 28, 2009.

2.28.2009
This time it's TV related - guess who's coming to a TV near you in about a week??

Oh yes, peeps...Nathan Fillion has a new TV show on ABC. It's called Castle and it's about a mystery author who gets pulled into a case with the local police and decides he likes it there. Castle premieres March 9th at 10e/9c.

All I say is Wo0T!!! My captain is coming back to TV with a show that might actually succeed! Yay!!

Any other good shows headed our way, peeps?

Hot off the presses...and a bit more.
6.02.2008
So, in today's email I got Suz's newsletter, in which she updates us on all things Suz-ish. Wheee!

Anyhoo...due out on July 22 is -
INTO THE FIRE is former Marine and Troubleshooters Incorporated operative Vinh Murphy's long-awaited story. Murph is the operative whose wife, Angelina, was shot and killed in HOT TARGET (I know, I know, how could I do that?!), but he's finally back. Although, the trouble that seems to follow him around (he's survived both a car bomb and a gunshot wound) is still just a few steps behind him...

And also announces that the next book (she's writing it now) is due out in February 09 *W00t!* and is tentatively titled "Dark of Night". She doesn't say whose book DON is (because she's evil like that) but she does say
...I'm pretty sure you'll know who this book is about when you read INTO THE FIRE. DON starts on the same day that ITF ends. 'Nuff said....

Oooooh...shall we speculate?? Probably not Izzy because he hasn't suffered enough yet. Maybe Lopez?? Or Decker - do we think she will really hook up Decker and Sophia??? I would prefer not but that's me. Or maybe one of the other Flashpoint people - like Dave (and Sophia, maybe?)...

In book shopping news - I got Susan Grant's Moonstruck (love her!) and the latest crack fix JR Ward's Lover Enshrined. ;-) I will remove them from my sidebar tomorrow.

And I'm currently reading At the Bride Hunt Ball by debut author Olivia Parker. I'm enjoying it! There is the occasional anachronistic bobble (my pet peeve...let me show u it) but I've seen much worse from NYT bestsellers so it's fine. If you like Julia Quinn or Suzanne Enoch or Sabrina Jeffries, check it out says me. :o) Gosh, isn't the cover horrible?? It's like Avon wants people to pass right on by the shelf without even picking it up. It's like an idea gone horribly wrong...I like the box at the bottom with the title and the author's name - invitation like, no? - but the couple is beyond icky. Yikes!

Cover me!
5.17.2008
So, I've been updating my "Patience is a Virtue" list and I noticed that the cover designs are changing a bit, here and there.

Take a look at this one:

Now, I loves me some Julie Q (and Nathan K, as far as that goes *evil grin*) but what about this cover? Is this a direction the publishers should continue or no?

What do we think, peeps??

Should we start a countdown??
6.20.2007
Sorry I've been missing in action, peeps! My mom came home with me so I've been trying to be entertaining (stop snickering, please). ;-)

Anyway, I was looking at my calendar today and realized that the new Harry Potter book will be out soon! Yay!!

The lolcats from ICanHasCheezburger.com are excited, too. :-D

My mom's here til the weekend so I'll still be missing but I'll do better, honest! I'll be posting about some new-to-me authors I think are worth recommending, even. Go me!

ETA: If you look at the upper right side of the blog, you'll notice I added the a countdown widget made by the fine folks at The Leaky Cauldron. They rock! For all things Potter (without all the rampant speculation), surf by and visit them. :o)

Just a bit of Suz news...
2.19.2007
...since the newest newsletter came out today. (You don't get Suz's newsletter, you say?? Take yourself hither and sign up!)

From the newsletter:

I'm currently writing a Troubleshooters Christmas novella, with a release date of October 30, 2007! (Yes, that's a mere two and a half months after the August release of FORCE OF NATURE! A double dose of the Troubleshooters in 2007!)

Yeah, baby!

The details of the novella are vague (because Suz is mean like that) but here are a few of the bits she is willing to share:

When a popular Troubleshooter gets married, what was supposed to be a
low-profile ceremony for family and friends snowballs into a thrill ride featuring a nosy reporter, a dashing personal assistant, and a stalker determined to claim the object of his obsession.

We interrupt your regularly scheduled surfing...
1.21.2007
...for just a small

If you notice over to the right, under the "Patience is a Virtue" header, you'll see that the cover for Suz's next book Force of Nature is up! W00t!! You may recall that I am soooo looking forward to this book.

Okay, as you were. :o)

***Updated to add: Roll your cursor over the Cute Overload link on the left to see the cutest little kitty face ever to wear a knitted hat. :-D

Woo hoo!!
11.14.2006

I believe I may have mentioned how much I love a Jules Cassidy (a character from Suzanne Brockmann's Troubleshooter series). :o) Everybody has a supporting character or two that they love and want to see more of, eventually in his or her own book...well, Jules is one of mine!

Anywho, in Suz's most recent newletter, she had the cover flap copy for her next book "Force of Nature" - coming to a bookstore near you, Summer 2007 - and no, this isn't Jules' book...but his is next! Yeah baby!! Anyway, the important part of the cover copy:

But in the course of his investigation, he comes face to face with
Robin Chadwick, the charismatic but self-destructive, closeted movie star for
whom Jules still feels a powerful attraction. Robin's in town promoting his
latest film --

And a bit more:

With Robin and Jules's help, Ric and Annie (the heroine and hero)
are soon entrenched inside Burns's organization,
surrounded by killers who may already have executed an FBI
infiltrator. Before long they realize that many more lives than just their own
will be at stake if they make a false move. As the heat rises, so do the
risks they're willing to take -- in the line of duty, for the sake of loyalty, and
in the name of something that runs even deeper.

So, not only do Jules and Robin meet up face to face BUT they work together on the investigation! WOOT!! And Suz has hinted pretty heavily that Jules' book will be next...however she manages to get it out. She has said that her publisher is open and supportive of Jules having a book of his own but we'll see when the time comes. I hope she's right...but that's a topic for another day.

So, if you're a Suz fan and haven't signed up for her newsletter go on over to the website (yes, it needs revamping...but I'd rather she write than wrestle with webpage overhauls).

Now, my question for you, gentle readers - who is the supporting character you hope gets a story of his or her own? Cat from "The Windflower" anyone?? Oh wait, that's me again....

Coming Attractions
9.09.2006
**Edited (again) to add** Still tinkering but I kind of like the dark background and the dots. It's better than the pink, anyway!

...since I'm in a bit of a slump (I mean, honestly, how do you follow Z??), I thought I post about the books I'm looking forward to the most between now and the end of the year (YIKES! It's the middle of September already!). So [fanfare] here they are:

October:

November:

December:

So what's everyone else looking forward to??
